The Humans Behind the Work
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Equity Strategy & Organizational Leadership
Fierce Buddha Consulting
Fierce and Buddha don't usually belong in the same sentence. One is all edge — bold, disruptive, unwilling to look away. The other is all center — grounded, wise, slow to react. Put them together and you get something most organizations desperately need and rarely find.
The ability to tell hard truths with enough care that people can actually hear them. That's what Fierce Buddha Consulting does.
I founded Fierce Buddha Consulting because I have spent more than 30 years watching the gap between organizational values and organizational reality cost people — good people, committed people — their sense of belonging, their voice, and sometimes their path forward. And I know that gap from the inside.
My career in the social sector began straight out of high school. In 1992 I took a job as a receptionist at a small Philadelphia nonprofit. I worked my way up to Chief of Staff — not because the path was clear, but because I kept finding the next thing to learn. A car accident in 1995 took me off that path. Surviving spinal meningitis in 2000 put me back on a new one.
I returned to college, earned my degree in 2004, and began a teaching career as a Reading Specialist and ESL-endorsed educator — where I first learned that inclusion is not a program. It is a practice. That insight became the equity methodology I have applied in every organization since.
I tell you all of that not to impress you — but to be clear about what I bring to the table. I have sat in the waiting room. I have answered the phones. I have run the programs, managed the staff, led the strategy, and set the policy. I know what it feels like to have a good idea and no platform to share it. And I know what it looks like when leadership is so far from the frontline that they have stopped seeing what is actually happening.
That is the gap I close.
"I have sat in every seat in the house. Service recipient. Volunteer. Donor. Frontline worker. Manager. Executive. Consultant. That full-circle perspective means I see what leadership cannot see from where they sit — and I name it with the clarity of someone who has been there."

Creative Strategy & Executive Partnership
Fierce Buddha Consulting
Every good partnership runs on two kinds of sight. Norinda sees people exactly as they are. Rob sees who they could become.
As Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Rob leads the creative strategy and executive partnership side of Fierce Buddha — the work of turning hard-won insight into language, narrative, and direction an organization can actually move on.
Where Norinda names what leadership cannot see from where they sit, Rob maps where it could go next. He has a particular gift for spotting the potential in a person, a team, or an idea long before it announces itself — and for building the strategy and the story that help it arrive.
Together, that is the engine behind Fierce Buddha. Norinda and Rob call it Witnessed Reflection™: the shared capacity to see possibility in people before they can see it in themselves, and to hold that possibility steady until it becomes real.
Fierce Buddha began with a single conversation between the two of them about the kind of work worth doing. This is that work.

The Work
Every Fierce Buddha engagement — every facilitation, every strategy session, every deliverable — is organized around four principles that emerged from three decades of doing this work from every seat in the house.
They are the answer to the question every client is really asking: Why you?
Because truth without trust is just criticism. Trust without transformation is just comfort. Transformation without testimony disappears. And testimony without truth is just a story.
Together, they are the turning point your organization is ready for.
T
Truth
The willingness to name what is actually happening — not what leadership hopes is happening. The fierce in Fierce Buddha.
T
Trust
The core diagnosis underlying all the work. Most organizational failures are trust failures. Everything builds from here.
T
Transformation
Not a report. Not a policy. A shift in how people show up — to each other, to the mission, and to the communities they serve.
T
Testimony
The evidence that the work landed. The stories clients carry forward. The proof that transformation is real and lasting.
